Driver Spotlight: Teresa
Meet Teresa, a North Carolina driver who has been using Empower since June 2020. One of Teresa’s favorite things about driving with Empower is the freedom it provides. She can drive when and where she wants, and is not restricted by the streaks that often dictate the earnings of drivers who work for Uber or Lyft. To help Empower grow, Teresa suggests sharing your referral code on social media, marketing to other drivers in areas where they gather waiting for rides, and encouraging riders to refer their friends or drivers to Empower. How did you hear about Empower?
A North Carolina Uber driver gave me a ride and we were talking about our careers. When he found out that I was driving part time for Uber, he told me about Empower and gave me his referral code. The rest is history!
What advice would you give to others thinking about using Empower?
If you’re tired of being at the whim of Uber and Lyft and not getting paid your worth, this app gives you what you need to start on your path to being a business owner. You have to remember that you’re totally self-employed and in business for yourself when using Empower. It takes hard work, patience and a “can do” attitude. It’s so gratifying when you give a ride booked through Empower to see that you got the entire amount of the fare.
What is your favorite thing about driving using Empower?
Besides getting 100% of the fare, I love the freedom Empower provides. Empower enables me to drive when and where I want.
What suggestions do you have for drivers who want to help Empower grow?
- Share your referral code on social media!
- I always take the opportunity to market to other drivers when I’m in areas where drivers gather waiting for rides. I’m constantly on the hunt for Uber or Lyft stickers on cars.
- Encourage riders to refer their friends or drivers to Empower. Make sure to tell riders the markets that Empower is available in so that they can send referrals to their friends and family in those areas as well. Who doesn’t like free ride credits?!
What are your daily goals you set for yourself while driving using Empower?
I always set goals to be online certain hours of the day as I’m always looking for that next client to add to my income stream.
As a driver with many completed rides, what advice would you give to others to be successful?
Be punctual, a clean car speaks volumes, and be friendly. Also, learn to read your riders.
What is the most enjoyable conversation that you’ve ever had with a rider?
Wow, that’s tough! I’ve had a lot of great memorable conversations. But I would say being a grandmother to three, it’s always great to share stories of our grandkids.
Anything else you would like to tell us?
I love being able to have the opportunity to tell other drivers about the Empower software! It’s so gratifying to see the excitement when you tell a driver that they’re able to earn and keep 100% of their fare.
