Driver Spotlight: Olushola

What are some things that you wish other drivers and community members knew about Empower?
Empower, just as the name implies, gives us drivers the authority to take charge of our destiny. I have been able to successfully take two courses while driving using Empower, and I don’t think any other platform gives you this level of flexibility even while maximizing your profits.
As a driver who has been liked by over 400 riders, what do you do to foster a positive relationship with your customers?
Making sure the customer feels safe is always my priority, so the first thing I do is to create a ”safe haven” for my passengers. This is achieved by:
- Greeting the passenger with a smile and also mentioning their name. Doing this makes the passenger feel comfortable and lets them know that they are in the right vehicle.
- Ensuring my vehicle is clean and tidy and also making sure the rider has a smooth and safe ride to their destination.
- Reading the mood of the rider and not engaging in unnecessary conversations that will make the rider uncomfortable. I will engage with them if otherwise.
What is the most enjoyable conversation that you’ve ever had with a rider?
I enjoy getting feedback from passengers that I previously picked up who let me know how safe and comfortable they feel when they ride with me.
What suggestions do you have for other drivers to make more money?
I think every driver should have a strategy and draw out a plan on how to go about their routine and get the most money. I also think every driver should pay attention to messages from the Empower App. These messages are life savers and let you know areas that have a lot of riders and suggestions on setting your rate card.
