Derrick has made over $75,000 driving for himself using Empower. Below, Derrick discusses how using Empower has enabled him to run and grow his own business and provided him with greater financial freedom.

Why do you use Empower?

Using the Empower platform, I have complete freedom. I make the same income as I would on Uber and Lyft, but I don’t need to drive nearly as much, because I earn more per ride.

How has referring riders helped you financially?

Needless to say, the more opportunities and the bigger the clientele base, there’s more of an opportunity to earn, at various times throughout the day.

What are your daily goals that you set for yourself while driving with Empower.

My number one goal daily is for everyone, including myself to reach their destination safely. For rides, I try to provide 8-12 rides daily. 

What advice would you give to others thinking about driving for themselves using Empower?

Set short term (daily) goals, as well as long term goals and work diligently towards achieving them.

As a driver with thousands of completed trips, what advice would you give to others to be successful?

Well I’d encourage drivers to be persistent and consistent. Remember safety is first and everything else will fall into order.
