About the Role:
Empower is hiring Community Managers for its upcoming NYC operations. This is a unique opportunity to help launch and grow operations for a new market from the ground up. Working with the General Manager of NYC, Community Managers will be responsible for driver and rider acquisition and retention on the Empower platform. Specific responsibilities include:
- Help develop and execute the driver acquisition plan. This would include a combination of in-person interactions, as well as online communications with potential drivers in NYC
- Identify opportunities and develop strategies to improve efficiency in driver operations (onboarding new drivers and helping existing drivers)
- Assist the NYC General Manager and COO with special projects, as needed
About You:
- You are a detail-oriented, high-energy, driven problem-solver and self-starter with an exceptional work ethic and a desire to be part of a team disrupting the status quo
- You love building relationships with people and are often the person who can strike up a conversation with strangers
- You have no fear of hard problems and rejections — those only fuel you to do better
- You can run through walls to get the job done, professionally and ethically
- You operate under a “customer-first” model, always anticipating potential problems and striving to provide better solutions
- You are an excellent communicator, knowing when to engage the broader team and when to flag issues to other parts of the company
- You are familiar with NYC geographic neighborhoods in general
What Do You Bring?
- Direct sales experience preferred
- Experience with other gig economy and/or marketplace companies preferred
- Experience working with community partners can be helpful
- Work experience as a political or campaign staffer or organizer can be helpful
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior professional and relevant work experience preferred
- Must be available and willing to work full-time and in-person in NYC
